How We Create Our Content

UNRUSH exists to bring honesty and structure to slow travel. That commitment starts with our own content. This page explains who writes our guides, how we research them, where we use AI, and how we keep what we publish accurate and independent.

Who writes for UNRUSH

Our guides and on-the-ground articles are produced by an editorial team with firsthand experience of Southeast Asia, led by our founder Florian Berta, who has lived in the region since 2010. We write about places we have travelled and agencies we have vetted — not destinations we have only read about.

How we research

Every guide is built from primary sources: our own travels, direct conversations with the local, tailor-made agencies we evaluate, and up-to-date official information on seasons, access and safety. When sources disagree, we check them against each other before we publish, and we favour local knowledge over generic travel-blog consensus.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with research, structure and first drafts. AI never publishes on its own. Before any guide goes live, a member of our editorial team reviews it, checks the facts, corrects anything that is wrong or out of date, and rewrites it to match what we actually know from the ground. Think of AI as a research assistant — the judgement, the experience and the final word are human.

Accuracy and updates

Travel information changes. Every guide shows when it was published and last updated, and we revise our content as seasons, prices and conditions change. If you find something inaccurate, we want to fix it.

Editorial independence

UNRUSH is an independent framework. The agencies we recommend earn their place by meeting our standards for cultural respect, positive local impact and environmental responsibility — never by paying for coverage. Our editorial recommendations and our certification work are kept separate from any commercial relationship.
